Dick Deblasio is a lifetime IEEE Member and Chairman of IEEE’s P2030 Smart Grid Interoperability Working Group. His article on the Smart Grid is featured on Intelligent Utility this week. Automated Black Box Gets a Privacy Update – The Institute
An amendment to IEEE 1616 Standard for Motor Vehicle Event Data Recorders (MVEDRs), of 2005, was approved this week. IEEE 1616 was the first universal standard for so-called black boxes for cars and light trucks. The Amendment IEEE 1616a-2010 addresses privacy and will be in effect until 2015.
