IEEE-SA Recognizes Outstanding Leadership Achievements in the Advancement of New Technologies
IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA) held the 2012 IEEE-SA Awards on Sunday, 2 December 2012, at the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick in New Brunswick, N.J.
IEEE-SA Awards are presented to members and non-members in recognition of their outstanding standards development participation. The 2012 IEEE-SA categories and winners include:
IEEE-SA Corporate Award:
For outstanding corporate leadership and contribution to IEEE-SA
IEEE-SA International Award:
For extraordinary contribution to establishing IEEE-SA as a world-class leader in standardization
IEEE-SA Standards Medallion Recipients:
For major contributions to the development of standards
IEEE-SA Emerging Technology Award:
For the initiation, advancement or progression of a new technology through IEEE-SA open consensus process
IEEE-SA Distinguished Service Award:
For outstanding and dedicated service to IEEE-SA Standards Board based on major contributions to the standards development process
IEEE-SA Lifetime Achievement Award:
For significant technical contributions to a standards committee or IEEE field of interest
IEEE Charles Proteus Steinmetz Award:
For contributions to the development of standards in the field of electrical and electronics engineering
The Ron Waxman Design Automation Standards Committee Meritorious Service Award:
For outstanding service exemplifying the spirit of the Design Automation Standards Committee (DASC)
In addition, more than 200 members of individual working groups were presented with IEEE-SA Working Group Chair Awards for their important contributions to published IEEE standards and their participation in the standards development process. Members of the working groups also received International Joint Working Group Chair Awards, recognizing the contributions they made between IEEE and either the ISO, IEC, or ISO/IEC during the development of a standard.
“IEEE-SA is very proud to honor this year’s outstanding award recipients,” said Steve Mills, president of the IEEE-SA. “Each honoree has made a unique contribution to increasing interoperability and furthering the evolution of new products and technologies. We appreciate their dedication to the important process of publishing new standards.”
